On the spectacular tour from the Diavolezza mountain station over the Pers to the Morteratsch glacier and further to the Morteratsch train station, surefootedness and fitness are required to master the 1100 meters of altitude.

Surrounded by the largest mountain group in the Eastern Alps, with the 4049-metre-high Piz Bernina at its centre, you are immersed in the fascinating world of the glaciers that flow around the massif on all sides. Around five billion tonnes of ice move inexorably downhill over a total distance of twelve kilometres and 1000 metres in altitude. The guided glacier hike provides insight into the natural phenomena - from crevasses and glacial mills to erratic blocks and the formation of moraines.
